FAQs
What happens after I complete the Ink Recycle Form?
Once the Ink Recycle Form is completed, we will book the postage based on the postage option you chose and email you the details within 24 hours.
We will also give you a unique identifier for each of your Ink Recycles, it will look like “IRCXXXX”, this will also be on the label we provide you. We use this to track your Ink Recycle from when you start the Ink Recycle till payout.
Once we receive your Ink Recycle parcel, we will calculate your payout or donation by checking the brand and quantity.
We will make the payout or donation within 7 days of receiving your Ink Cartridge’s.
Why do we ask for your address?
We use your address as the sender details on the courier website and it is also used as the collection address if you choose Royal Mail collection as your postage option.
We only require the first line of address (Door number & road name) and your postcode.
Why do we ask for your bank details?
We use your Account number and Sortcode to send your payout via BACS. Please ensure the name you put on the Ink Recyle Form is the same as on your bank details.
Your bank details can only be used to put in funds, we don’t ask for your card details on our website.
What couriers do we use?
We offer postage with 3 couriers, Yodel (Collect+), Evri & Royal Mail.
We use Yodel (Collect+) and Evri as a drop-off in-store service and Royal Mail for collections only.
How does drop-off in-store work?
You can find a local parcel store by using the store locater button on the Ink Recycle Form for Yodel (Collect+) and Evri only.
Select the courier of which parcel shop is most convenient for you to drop-off at and we will send you a Barcode / QR Code within 24 hours of you completing the form. You can use this to print off the label in-store and drop the parcel off.
How long do I have to Drop-off my Ink Cartridge's?
The label supplied is active for 14 days from the day you receive the booking confirmation email. After this, you can re-book a Ink Recycle and you will receive a new label.
How does Royal Mail collection work?
When you select Royal Mail option on the Ink Recycle Form, you will have some additional questions to answer. You will be asked to select the day(s) which are most convenient for you for Royal Mail to collect and you can also add a Safeplace for Royal Mail to collect from your property.
When we receive the Ink Recycle Form, we will book the collection in between 2-3 working days or the next convenient day from the day’s you’ve selected.
We will send you the collection day and estimated time given by Royal Mail via email. The label will be brought to you by the postie and they will collect the parcel and attach the label.
Please note: Royal Mail collects any time between 8am-3pm and the collection time differs by location. A more accurate collection time is given to us during booking which will be given to you via email.
What happens if I miss my collection?
We will re-book another collection at the next convenient day selected by you. If 14 days from receiving the booking confirmation email has passed, you will need to re-book another Ink Recycle.
We recommend adding a Safeplace to avoid a missed collection.
Can I print the postage label myself?
Yes, if you choose to print the label on the Ink Recycle Form, we will email you the label to print.
How do I pack the Ink Cartridge's?
You can pack the Ink Cartridge’s in a spare box or a parcel bag and seal it with tape.
Can I send you a mixed batch of Ink Cartridge's in a Ink Recycle?
Yes, if you have any quantity of Canon and HP Ink Cartridge’s available or are recycling friend’s or family’s Ink Cartridge’s, you can put them in the same Ink Recycle. We accept any quantity of Ink Cartridge’s, for example, you can send us 3 black cartridge’s and 1 tri-colour cartridge.
We will calculate your payout using our pricing above and will give you the payout breakdown via the payout confirmation email.
When do I receive my funds?
You will receive your payout within 7 days of us receiving your Ink Recycle parcel. Once the payout is done, you will receive a payout confirmation email.
Why isn't there a price difference between normal and XL cartridge's?
This is because the ink space inside each cartridge is the same but the ink yield inside normal and XL cartridge’s is different. So when recycling empty Ink Cartridge’s, all cartridge’s are exactly the same.
Why do we have a minimum quantity?
A minimum quantity allows us to have the most cost-effective method to receive the inks with all costs factored in.
Do we accept physically damaged cartridge's?
We don’t accept any physically damaged Ink Cartridge’s, this only includes cracks or completely fallen apart Ink Cartridge’s. We don’t mind scuffs or chips on the cartridge.
We do require the Ink Cartridge chip to be in place.
What happens if the courier loses my parcel?
If the parcel is delayed or has an issue, the onus is on us to contact the courier.
If it is lost, we will file a lost parcel claim and try to get it located. We will be in touch with you during this process.
